On October 23, the "China Postal Express Industry Green Development Report (-)" written by the Development Research Center of the State Post Bureau was released today. The report said that the green management of express packaging has achieved remarkable results in 2018, and the industry is accelerating the construction of a green development system with terminal reduction, transit recycling, transportation emission reduction, and warehousing energy conservation.
The report specifically mentioned that the industry recycled and reused 200 million packaging boxes, put into use approximately 2 million recyclable boxes (boxes), which were used a total of 80 million times, saving 78 million cartons. The proportion of packaging with "slimming tape" below 45 mm reached 75%. The average amount of tape used per express delivery was reduced by nearly 20% year-on-year, reducing the use of 450 million meters of tape. Transportation is cleaner, lower-carbon and more environmentally friendly, with the industry using 43,000 new energy or clean energy vehicles.
Data shows that as of the end of the year, the national electronic waybill usage rate reached 98%, saving an amount of paper equivalent to 61.7 billion sheets of A4 paper annually. The rate of e-commerce express parcels no longer being repackaged has reached 52%. The utilization rate of recycled transfer bags reached 75%, and the total usage decreased by 96.4% year-on-year, saving 2.48 billion disposable plastic woven bags annually.
my country's annual express delivery volume reached 63.52 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 25.3%, ranking first in the world for six consecutive years. At the same time, the State Post Bureau announced on October 18 that China's annual express delivery volume has exceeded 60 billion pieces.
Faced with such a huge business volume, green management of express delivery is bound to be a major project. Recently, the State Post Bureau held a routine press conference for the fourth quarter of the year, introduced the green management of express packaging, and stated that 35,000 new postal express outlets will be equipped with standard packaging recycling bins, and it is expected that the four established tasks will be completed before the end of the year.
