How to ship products through Amazon FBA? How to send goods to FBA warehouse?

Learning how to ship goods on Amazon is an essential skill for sellers. So, as newly opened sellers, how do we ship goods? Next, I will introduce you to the delivery process of Amazon FBA.

1. Create a Transportation Plan

The first step to shipping your products to an FBA warehouse is to create a shipping plan. Creating a shipping plan helps sellers determine:

1. Mode of transportation

2. The quantity of products sent.

3. The type of product being sent.

4. Amazon/seller handles product preparation.

If you are a private label seller, you need to create a listing for your product before making a shipping plan. To create your listing and shipping plan, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the seller backend.

2. Go to Inventory > Manage Inventory.

3. Click Add Product and enter product information.

4. After the listing is completed, click Manage Inventory, click Action in the Selected drop-down menu, select Send/Replenish Inventory, and create a shipping plan.

5. After completing the above steps, you need to verify the shipping address.

6. After completing the address verification, you need to confirm the packaging type.

Next, proceed to the second step

2. Set the delivery quantity

During the setup process, pay attention to the following warning notification sent by Amazon:

Action Recommended: If Amazon detects that the seller’s product sales are slow, it will recommend that the seller remove this shipping plan.

Removal Required: If the seller receives this notice, it means Amazon wants the seller to remove this shipping plan.

Information Required: Amazon will issue this notification if the seller’s product is missing important information.

Excess Inventory: Amazon sets limits on the number of items that can be sent to an FBA warehouse. If the quantity exceeds, Amazon will refuse to accept it. The quantity limit depends on the product type, size and weight.

Sellers need to follow Amazon’s recommended product preparation requirements to quickly send products to FBA. Products that do not meet the requirements will be returned or rejected, or additional fees will be charged, or they may not be shipped to FBA in the future.

3. Prepare the product

At this stage, sellers need to take corresponding measures to ensure the safe delivery of products to the FBA warehouse. Therefore, packaging materials are very important. Amazon FBA also has relevant regulations on packaging materials, and packaging that does not meet the regulations will be rejected. The following packaging materials can be used:

adhesive tape.

Bubble wrap.

Opaque packaging bag.

Note: When packaging products in polyethylene bags, be sure to attach barcodes to make it easier for Amazon to identify and track the products. Sellers can visit the Prepare Products page in Seller Central for information about product packaging.

4. Product Labeling

Amazon uses a barcode system to track products sent to its warehouses, so sellers need to barcode their products according to Amazon's standards. You can choose from the following labels:

Request a barcode through the FBA label service.

Add Amazon's barcode to your products.

Use the product's EAN or UPC barcode.

Note: The barcode must meet FBA requirements. After the settings are completed, the seller can create the barcode and click print. The barcodes can be saved as PDF and then printed. It would be even easier if there is already a manufacturer labeling the product. Note that manufacturer labeling must also comply with Amazon FBA requirements.

5. Conduct an audit

Before confirming shipment, the transportation plan needs to be reviewed again. Pay special attention to the warehouse code and shipping code, as your products may be shipped to different FBA warehouses.

Amazon will provide the seller with a shipping name, which can be changed maliciously. Note that any changes may affect the packing list. Sellers can also see the MSKU (Seller Stock Required Unit) quantity, which is a unique product identifier that reflects the quantity shipped for each MSKU.

After all information is confirmed, the ViewShipments page will appear. Review it again before submitting. Then click WorkonShipment to send the product to Amazon FBA.

6. Prepare for transportation

Go to the PrepareShipment page, then select your shipping method and carrier, determine the number of boxes you need, schedule your shipment, and finally print your labels. You can make some modifications, but if there are too many things to modify, it is best to delete the plan and create it again.

Sellers can choose from the following shipping options:

Full Truckload (FTL), FTL delivers directly to Amazon warehouses without stopping.

Pallet shipments (LTL) are limited to a minimum of 150 lbs and a maximum of 1,500 lbs per pallet.

Small parcel delivery (Small parcel delivery), products are packed separately, and each box weighs no more than 50 pounds.
