US e-commerce giant Amazon has officially launched its luxury e-commerce platform LuxuryStores, which will use "360-degree view" technology to provide personalized shopping services, display products to customers in all directions, and make luxury shopping more convenient.
Amazon launched LuxuryStores, officially entering the luxury fashion market. LuxuryStores currently only offers new shopping services and experiences, including emerging luxury fashion and beauty brands, to eligible US Prime members.
LuxuryStores’ business model:
LuxuryStores is open only to eligible US Prime members by invitation, aiming to better enable luxury brands to reach wealthy consumers. Prime members who haven't received an email invitation can apply through Amazon's website.
The model of LuxuryStores may be similar to that of Farfetch, which is a membership invitation system and does not provide a PC version. Purchases can only be made through the Amazon mobile app.
LuxuryStores' products:
Oscar de la Renta, which recently launched its pre-fall and fall/winter collections, including ready-to-wear, handbags, jewelry, accessories and a new fragrance, is now available on Amazon Luxury Stores, and more brands will be connected to the platform in the coming weeks and during the fashion season.
