On July 15, Amazon Europe recently announced that it will update the return and refund policy for self-delivery sellers in Europe in August.
It is reported that the new policy will make it easier for self-delivery sellers to handle return and refund applications. Sellers can rate the returned products and their appearance and functional condition to prevent sellers from being affected by bad returns. In addition, the new policy will help buyers understand the definition of full refund and partial refund.
The amount of the refund will be based on the condition and type of the returned merchandise. Items returned within the Amazon return policy and in original condition will be eligible for a full refund, while items that do not meet the policy requirements and have been used or are in damaged condition after use will only be eligible for a partial refund.
It is worth noting that if a seller encounters a situation where a buyer wants to apply for a partial refund because the product is damaged, lost, or seriously inconsistent with the actual product, the seller can choose to rate the returned product. A partial refund will require the seller to upload photos of the returned product. Amazon will use the photo information uploaded by the seller to assist the detection mechanism and protect the seller from the impact of bad returns.
In addition, sellers are still required to refund within two working days of receiving the buyer's return request. The new refund workflow allows sellers to calculate the partial refund amount and required shipping costs directly in the Seller Center.
It is understood that Amazon Europe has recently frequently issued multiple announcements to update new policies. Previously, Amazon Europe announced that it would implement new pricing rules for all consumer products on Amazon Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Italy, as well as update Amazon’s software sales policy.
