Amazon FBA Packaging Tutorial

1. Appearance of the goods

Amazon will refuse to accept products with defects in appearance, sometimes it is just a small wrinkle or a small corner that is slightly dented. Therefore, when receiving the goods from the consignor, the appearance of each box of goods must be checked for obvious damage and deformation; if so, the outer packaging must be opened to check the integrity of the goods inside.

If the shipment is damaged at the port of departure, Amazon will definitely reject it. At this time, you need to take out a new packaging box, replace the packaging, and stick the SKU code (the one on the packaging may not be the same as the one shipped, so pay special attention). At the same time, pay attention to the stacking requirements of FBA goods in the warehouse. Place them evenly on the pallet and the stacking height should not exceed the wall warning. The safety of goods should be the primary principle for both warehousing and transportation.

2. National Standard

FBA requires that the national label be affixed to the outer box; in order to distinguish the goods, our company also uses the colored national label as the main mark. International styles and colors shall be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the file "National Logo Stickers 9.18 (CS4) Conversion (1).pdf" (q2094787224 shared and provided cannot be found). The size of the national standard is a square with a side length of 4 cm. Two national labels are pasted on the upper right corner of the narrow side of each box of goods.

3. Check the product’s SKU code

The product's SKU code is a unique identifier for a product of one type, one model, and one size. Amazon recognizes the code but not the product. If Amazon finds that you have pasted the wrong SKU code, it will be very expensive for them to help you replace it. If a batch of ten boxes of 1000 pieces is wrong, the cost is at least 1000*0.25=250 euros.

When printing SKU codes, we prohibit you from editing them with printing software, you can only take PDF screenshots. After printing out the screenshot, scan it with a scanner to verify it.

Why? "0" and "O", "1" and "I" are difficult to distinguish with the naked eye during large-scale inspections, and are also easy to make mistakes when entering data into a computer. But 0 is 0, O is O, the scanner can distinguish them clearly, and if it is wrong, it is wrong. Therefore, in such error-prone areas, we strictly follow the operating procedures to avoid error-prone procedures from occurring. You can only take screenshots, you can't edit them yourself.

If you need to change the SKU code, you must cover the original label to avoid having two labels for the same product, which would be confusing. In addition, just stick it flat when pasting.

4. Customs clearance related information labels

After FBA goods arrive at the customs of the destination country, the dispatched logistics team or express company (agent) will contact the customs. Although the information on PI, PL, and express waybills is comprehensive, in order to make it most convenient for them to find relevant information and identify our goods as quickly as possible, the company stipulates that whether FBA goods are cleared by themselves or by agents, customs clearance-related information labels must be affixed to the goods. The information on the label includes: delivery address, customs clearance entity, EU EORI code, national tax number, and local logistics team contact information. One sheet per box of goods is pasted on the front or side.

5. FBA label

The FBA label is the outer packaging box mark used to confirm the goods when they are received by the Amazon warehouse. It consists of FBA information and the code 128 barcode. The FBA label is generated within the Amazon system. Generally, there are 1, 4 or 6 FBA labels in an A4 PDF. In view of the fact that after June, the FBA label code of each batch of goods is prefix + three digits increasing in increments, the company arranges for a special person to make thermal barcodes, and the FBA label is pasted on the front or side of each box of goods, two sheets.
