Amazon is the third-party platform of choice for Chinese people who want to sell their products overseas. Whether you are registering in your personal or company name, you can complete the entire registration process through Amazon's self-registration channel. There is almost no difference in various permissions (traffic, number of products on the shelves, product review requirements, etc.) between accounts opened in an individual name or a company name.

According to the registration guide officially released by Amazon, today I will tell you about the application process for the North American site!

You need to prepare the following registration information:

1. Dual currency credit card (deduct monthly rent of the store, it is recommended to use VISA or MasterCard dual currency credit card)

2. Independent computer and network (clean, not logged into Amazon seller account, nor logged into buyer account)

3. Mailbox (Note: It is recommended that computers, the Internet, and mailboxes be used exclusively for specific numbers and lines. Do not use mailboxes together with other channels such as eBay)

If you apply through an Amazon investment manager, you also need to prepare the following materials in advance (mainly for enterprises):

4. Scanned copy of the business license (either Chinese or Hong Kong companies are acceptable)

Additional information is required to register for Amazon Europe:

5. Personal bills (bank bills/communication bills/water, electricity, gas bills, etc., with personal name and address, for the last three months)

6. Corporate bills (bank bills/communication bills/water, electricity, gas bills, etc., with company name and address, for the last three months)

7. Scanned copy of passport or ID card + household registration page

8. Other information required by Amazon. If you are doing European overseas warehouse or FBA, a VAT tax number is also required.

Amazon registration process is as follows

Step 1: Register and create an account

Log in to www.amazon.com, click “Sell on Amazon” – “Start Selling” at the bottom of the page, and then start creating an account.

Step 2: Fill in the information (must be in English)

If it is a business, enter the name of the business; if it is an individual, enter the name of the individual, and then agree to Amazon's terms.

Step 3: Fill in address information

If you really can't write the English address, you can use pinyin instead. If you have opened a store on other websites, you can post the store URL here. If not, you don’t need to fill it in as it is not a required field. Finally, the authentication:

1. You have three chances. If you still can’t get the call, change to text messages immediately.

2. Pay special attention to confirm whether the mobile phone number you fill in has appeared in the Amazon seller system before. If so, no matter what it was used for at the time, do not use it now, as it is easy to be associated;

3. When you select Call, a page will pop up showing the PIN and four-digit number. After the phone rings, just enter them. When you select SMS, you will receive a four-digit PIN code and enter it into the pop-up page.

Step 4: Bind your credit card

Fill in the credit card information as requested by Amazon.

Step 5: Fill in the identity verification form

If you do not have U.S. citizenship, you must select NO for this option.

Step 7: Provide electronic signature

To save trouble, this place recommends that you choose to provide an electronic signature instead of sending the form via email. It is simple and effective. After selecting electronic signature, multiple options and input boxes will pop up. Check all the boxes, then write the company name or your name, email address and country, and click OK.

Step 8: Confirm the system reminder information

If you chose the second method in the previous step, the system will display a reminder as shown below, informing you that if you agree to provide an electronic signature, your information will take effect immediately. If you do not agree to provide an electronic signature, your information will only take effect 7-20 working days after receiving the form you mailed.

Step 9: Generate Form W-8

Step 10: Fill in product information

Fill in the form according to your sales needs.

Step 11: Select sales category

There are multiple options here. If you sell multiple categories, you can check them all and then click Finish.

After completing the above steps, you can log in to the Amazon backend.
