Email Forwarding <br/>Email forwarding is a service that allows you to direct email from your custom domain name to your existing Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or other provider email account. For example, if you have the domain name johns-apparel.com, you can create an email for your customers at [email protected]. When customers email [email protected], their messages are forwarded to your existing personal account, such as [email protected].
Forwarding email from a third-party domain provider
Some third-party domain name providers offer email hosting for your domain name. After you add your existing domain to Shopify, you can set up email forwarding from your domain.
The methods for forwarding mail from a third-party domain to your own email address vary, and specific instructions cannot be provided for every domain provider.
In each case, your goal is to redirect mail from third-party domains to your own email host. You may have to do one of the following:
Sign in to your third-party account and use their website to add your email address or edit your MX records.
your provider for help forwarding email. Tell them you want all mail forwarded to your other (preferred) email address.
Email hosting not included with third-party providers
If email hosting was not included when you purchased your domain from a third-party provider, you can use a third-party email hosting service.
Some options include:
Zoho — Zoho Mail provides email accounts for your custom domain name and has paid packages available. Zoho Mail can be connected to Zoho business applications.
G Suite — Google Apps for Work connects to the Gmail platform with email at your custom domain for $5-10 per user per month. You can learn more about their services.
Note: Selecting one of these options means you may have to configure MX records with your domain name provider.
