Cross-border logistics is a very important part of cross-border e-commerce, and it is also a difficult point for most novice sellers. We can choose our own logistics company or a freight forwarder with good credit to cooperate with. For beginners, it is recommended to choose the online logistics provided by the platform, and large sellers can choose the overseas warehousing model. When choosing, you should consider the logistics time and logistics costs based on your actual situation.
Some people would say that cross-border e-commerce logistics is a hundred times more complicated than domestic express delivery. They are both express delivery, so is there any difference?
1. Communication problems.
Domestic express delivery companies need to add a line in the management system, hold a meeting, make a phone call, and get cars and planes ready, and then OK. Everyone speaks Mandarin, so communication is very efficient.
Open a line for cross-border logistics: do the first leg by yourself, find a company to cross the port, book the flight with whichever company, find a company to do customs clearance when you arrive at the local location, and then find another company to deliver locally, and then negotiate the price, API connection, and test implementation. Language barriers, time zone barriers, line barriers, API connection barriers, it’s a headache to talk to foreigners.
2. Tax issues.
There is no domestic express delivery.
International express delivery: customs duties, VAT declaration, all sorts of messes, etc. It’s impossible to handle it without professional people and companies.
3. Standard issues.
Especially for health products, skin care products, food and other products that are directly ingested or come into contact with the human body, and involve environmental protection, safety performance and the like, if you do not have local national certification, you cannot enter at all, and you must go to the Commerce Bureau to register before exporting.
In China, as long as you have a certificate from the Industrial and Commercial Bureau, it will be fine.
4. Container Issues
First you have to book a space, then pack, do customs clearance and inspection, and finally you can get on board; the second point is the document issue. International delivery is actually a virtual delivery, which means that as long as the documents are complete, it is considered delivery, while domestic delivery is actual delivery, and money is exchanged for goods.
