Amazon Japan FBA fee updates are as follows:
1. Delivery costs
Amazon will adjust the FBA size tiers based on industry standards. Size tiers are based on the sum of the length, width and height of a package that does not exceed the weight threshold of a specific size tier and are classified as small, standard and oversized. Fulfillment fees vary based on the specific size thresholds for each size tier.
Amazon will remove the delivery fee exemption for items priced above 45,000 yen.
2. Monthly storage fee
With this fee update, Amazon will begin charging different monthly storage fees for small/standard and oversized items.
From January to September, Amazon will reduce monthly storage fees for small/standard-size items by 35% and for oversized items by 45%. In addition, the monthly storage fees for large items will be reduced by another 15% between October and December.
3. Long-term storage fees
Amazon will eliminate long-term storage fees for inventory that has been in storage for less than 365 days. On February 15, Amazon will no longer charge these fees. Long-term storage fees for inventory items that have been stored for more than 365 days remain unchanged and will be charged on February 15th.
Starting August 15, 2019, Amazon will update the frequency of charging long-term storage fees from twice a year to once a month. The charge each time will be one tenth of the original amount. Amazon will also charge a minimum long-term storage fee of 10 yen per unit per month for items that remain in a fulfillment center for more than 365 days.
