Amazon FBA is an important means to promote new products, increase sales, and seize the golden shopping cart, but sellers who have just entered Amazon often don’t know how to operate it. Let’s now take a look at the operation guide of Amazon FBA.
Step 1: Go to Manage Amazon Inventory
Log in to the seller backend and click “Manage FBA Inventory” in the “INVENTORY” tab to enter the inventory management interface.
Step 2: “Switch to FBA”
Sellers who open stores on Amazon can find products to be converted to FBA shipments by searching SKU, title, and ISBN on the inventory management page.
On this page, you can see the product shipping attributes, with "product status (all, available, unavailable)" and delivery type (all, Amazon, seller) as the main filtering conditions. Of course, there are other filtering conditions. When converting to FBA, select "All" in the "Shipping Type" page.
If a seller who opens a store on Amazon only wants to convert a single listing to FBA, he can directly tick the "√" box on the far left of the listing, and at the same time click "Change to Fulfilled by Amazon" in the "Edit" on the far right of the listing.
If multiple listings need to be converted to FBA delivery, check "√" at "Status" to select all, and then select "Change to Fulfilled by Amazon" in the "Apply to Selected Products" drop-down menu, as marked in the red box above.
Step 3: After selecting the FBA products to be shipped, you will jump to the following page and click "Convert Only" to confirm the conversion to FBA shipment. (The following content takes the conversion of a single listing to FBA as an example)
Step 4: Seller information verification
After clicking "Convert Only", you will be redirected to the following page. There are options for warehousing start-up items, departure locations, and packaging types.
Here, pay attention to the origin and packaging type.
Place of origin: The shipping address is automatically generated. If necessary, you can modify the shipping address by clicking "Ship from another address". Fields marked with “*” are required.
Packaging type: divided into mixed packaging and original packaging.
Mixed packing: There are multiple SKU products in one box.
Original packaging for delivery: there is only one SKU in a box.
Regarding the packaging type, sellers who open stores on Amazon should truthfully choose whether to "mixed shipment" or "original packaging shipment."
After confirming the place of departure and packaging type, click "Continue to process the warehousing plan". After selection, the originally gray interface in the lower half of the page will display normally.
Step 5: Product packaging size
Here, "All Products" will display the product information selected for FBA delivery. If the seller needs to add a new SKU, click "Add Product". If you need to delete it, click the "X" after each listing to delete it. Here, you need to enter the product packaging dimensions. Please note that the manufacturer's original product packaging size (inches) is required. For example, a seller who sells cups on Amazon needs to enter the product packaging dimensions (length, width, height) and quantity, and then click "Save".
After clicking Save, click "Continue" below to proceed to the next step of "Prepare Products".
Step 6: Prepare the product
In this step, you will also browse the information previously set by the seller. After confirming that there is no problem, click "Continue" to proceed to the next step.
Step 7: Label your products
After completing step 6, you will be directed to the "Label Products" page. This is a critical step because every product shipped to the FBA warehouse must be labeled. Here, choose to set the number of labels to print and select the size to print.
Under normal circumstances, Amazon uses "A4" format paper for printing by default, and sellers can purchase A4 format self-adhesive paper for printing on their own. Generally, the number of labels printed on each A4 paper is between 21 and 44. Sellers can choose the corresponding specifications for printing based on the product packaging size. After completing your selection, click "Print this page label" to print the label. After printing, stick the labels one by one on the product or product packaging. Then click "Continue" to proceed to the next step.
Below are screenshots of label printing for some SKUs. In order to allow FBA to scan and enter the warehouse smoothly, sellers who open stores on Amazon need to attach each label to the product or product packaging. Be careful not to paste the wrong SKU.
Step 8: Inspect your shipment
In this stage, check the shipment's origin, packaging type, included goods, and product preparation fees. On this page, Amazon will also prompt that "the inventory you send to Amazon may be divided into multiple shipments based on the seller's SKU. We will assign an operations center to each shipment based on a variety of factors, including the size and category of the product, your address, and other factors." In other words, the products created by sellers who open stores on Amazon may be divided into warehouses and assigned to different FBA warehouses, or they may all be sent to one FBA warehouse. In short, it is automatically assigned by the Amazon system. If the seller does not want to split the warehouse, he can set up warehouse consolidation in the background in advance. (Additional fees will be charged for closing positions). After confirming that the information is correct, the seller can also see the "destination", which is the address of the FBA warehouse.
If there is no problem, continue to click "Process Shipment". After confirming that there is no problem, click "Confirm Shipment"
Step 9: Prepare your shipment
1. Check the items in the shipment
Amazon has a reminder on this page: Sellers must ensure that the SKU and quantity of the physical goods shipped are exactly the same as those filled in when creating the product. That is, the seller must check the SKU varieties and quantities to ensure that the wrong products are not selected or shipped.
2. Choose a shipping service
The mode of transport is usually filled in by default: "Small package express"
Carrier: The default value is "DHLEXPRESS(SUA)INC"
"Prepare Shipment" and "Select Shipping Service" are as follows:
3. Set box information
Here is the number of boxes to set. If the quantity of a batch of shipments created by the seller is large and multiple outer boxes are needed for delivery, the number of boxes should be filled in truthfully in the "Total number of boxes". Right now
If you are shipping multiple boxes together, select "Multiple Boxes";
If it is a single box shipment, change "Multiple boxes" to "All items in one box."
Let me briefly mention the number of boxes here. The boxes here refer to the number of boxes at the time of shipment. If your product is special and needs to be packaged in multiple small boxes, and then these small boxes are put into a large box, then the number of boxes here refers to the number of all large boxes, not the number of small boxes.
How do sellers who sell on Amazon provide box content information? Here are three options: use a web form, upload a file, or skip box information and charge a manual processing fee.
Use web form: Fill in the box information in the web form (recommended).
