According to the survey data, on Amazon’s European sites, namely Amazon UK, Amazon Spain, Amazon France, Amazon Italy, and Amazon Germany. On these five sites, sellers from China account for 41% of the total number of sellers on the entire platform. So what little knowledge do we need to know about Amazon Europe?
1. CE marking
CE certification is a mandatory product safety certification implemented by EU countries. Most domestic e-commerce products exported to the EU need to be marked with the CE mark, such as all electrical products including power supplies, lamps, home appliances, electronics, communications, wireless, machinery and other products, as well as toys, personal protection, medical devices and other categories of products.
2. EU Authorized Representative
In order to ensure that the above-mentioned CE Marking requirements are met, EU law also requires manufacturers located outside the EU to designate an EU authorized representative within the EU. Please note, my friends, this EU authorized representative is only a representative for product safety, and is neither an importer, nor an agent or sales representative.
3.WEEE
For some European countries, such as Germany, it is mandatory to register and recycle electronic and electrical products sold to that country. This WEEE registration is a must! And the recycling bin icon should be marked on the product. Non-compliant products will be removed from Amazon.
4. Packaging recycling
Germany has mandatory requirements for the registration and recycling of product packaging. As long as the seller has products sold in Germany, no matter which category, which channel (self-delivery, FBA, overseas warehouse), which platform (Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, etc.), or how much the quantity is, registration and recycling must be carried out in accordance with the German Packaging Law. The registration fee for German Prolinx German Packaging Law is 999 yuan, and it takes 1-2 days to complete.
5. Local language
EU law stipulates (Amazon also explicitly requires this) that sellers need to provide product information such as instructions, product warnings, etc. in the local language. For example, if the product is sold to Germany, then the relevant product manual must be prepared in German; English is not appropriate.
