What is Amazon Small and Light?

Amazon Logistics Small and Light (FBASmallandLight) is a delivery solution for small and light commodities with fast circulation and price not exceeding US$15.

What are some common questions about Amazon's Small and Light program?

1. What happens if the price of a product registered in the Small and Light Program increases to more than $7?

Starting May 1, 2019, all products weighing more than 10 ounces or priced over $7 will move to standard FBA and be charged FBA fulfillment fees.

2. How are products under the Small and Light Commodity Program displayed to buyers?

When customers search for products, the Customer Shipping Promise will show “Free shipping for Prime members by [date]”.

3. I don’t offer any promotional discounts, so why do I see promotional discounts on my products?

Certain Small and Light program products priced $5 or less and in the consumer goods category (including beauty, personal care and health, food, and baby products (excluding apparel)) are eligible for a 5% price discount if customers order two or more of the same product. The cost of the discount is borne by FBA - the payment you receive for the item does not change. You do not need to do anything to participate in the promotion.

4. Can I sell products in the Amazon Small and Light program and the standard Amazon FBA program at the same time?

Can. You can have the same product listed in both the FBA Small and Light program and the standard FBA program. If you want your products to participate in both programs, please note that there are different processes for shipping through FBA Small and Light and shipping through standard FBA. For instructions on creating offers in both programs, see our Creating offers in FBA Small and Light and standard FBA.

5. Can I offer products through the Amazon Logistics Small and Light program and fulfill them myself?

Can. You can use the seller-fulfilled option to fulfill the same product yourself while selling it through the FBA Small and Light program.

6. Can I use existing seller SKUs when shipping Amazon FBA Small and Light products to a fulfillment center?

To use a Seller SKU in the Small and Light program, that Seller SKU must be based on a product in Fulfillment by Amazon. Enroll your seller-fulfilled products in the Small and Light program and then convert them to Fulfilled by Amazon.

If you want to offer your product in both the Small and Light program and the Seller Fulfilled product network, we recommend that you create separate listings for each, so that you have two seller SKUs, one for the Small and Light program and another for Seller Fulfilled product network. Please use the Inventory Loader to update or create multiple listings.

7. Are existing FBA products that use manufacturer barcodes for tracking eligible for registration?

If you have products that are tracked using manufacturer barcodes, create a new Merchant Fulfilled Seller SKU and register the Seller SKU into the Small and Light program using the registration page. To help you create new listings, download our step-by-step guide. After the seller SKU is successfully registered, our system will automatically convert your seller SKU to the Small and Light Product Program product. Each unit must have a scannable barcode (UPC/EAN/FNSKU) or be individually labeled (if no barcode is available or the barcode applies to multiple units).

8. Can products with an expiration date/shelf life participate in the Small and Light Commodity Program?

Can. The Small and Light program accepts products with expiration/best before dates, but not products with temperature requirements (such as chocolate). The Small and Light program follows standard FBA requirements for expiration-dated inventory.

For products shipped to Amazon, the remaining shelf life must be greater than 105 days from the time Amazon receives it. Products with a remaining expiration date/shelf life of less than 50 days will be removed and disposed of by Amazon. Items that need to be disposed of cannot be returned.

When shipping products with expiration dates to Amazon, please ensure that all products in a box have the same expiration date. Multiple items of the same product may be shipped together if all items have the same expiration/best before date and are packaged or bundled together.

9. How do I remove my Small and Light inventory from Amazon’s fulfillment centers?

You can remove your Small and Light inventory by creating a removal order in Seller Central, following the same process as removing standard FBA inventory. Small and Light removal and disposal order fees are the same as standard FBA removal order fees. For more information, see Removing inventory from an Amazon fulfillment center.

10. Can I use the Small and Light Program for products I sell through channels other than Amazon?

cannot. The Small and Light program can only be used to fulfill Amazon orders.
