Many seller friends have sent me messages asking: What is the cost of opening a store on Amazon Japan? Today, I will introduce to you the cost of opening a store on Amazon Japan.
Cost of opening a store on Amazon Japan
First of all: Amazon's "Global Selling" has two sales plans, Professional Sales Plan (Professional) and Individual Sales Plan (Individual). The "Professional" and "Individual" sales plans are not the same as companies and individuals. Both companies and individuals can open these two plans. For the difference between the two plans, please refer to: Don’t be blinded by these few myths about “Amazon Global Selling”.
The following two formulas can simply explain how to calculate the costs of the two sales plans on the Japanese site:
"Professional Sales Plan" fee = monthly rent + sales commission
"Personal Sales Plan" fee = per-item fee + sales commission
Monthly rent
(Available only on Professional Selling Plan)
Sellers who choose the professional sales plan need to pay a monthly rent of 4,900 yen (approximately 300 yuan)
Charge by piece
(Only available for "Individual Selling Plan")
Sellers who choose the personal selling plan are charged on a per-item basis. For each item sold, they need to pay Amazon a sales fee of 100 yen (approximately RMB 7), but they do not need to pay monthly rent.
Sales Commission
(Applicable to both Professional and Individual Selling Plans)
There are different regulations on sales commission percentages for different categories of goods.
It is important to note that some product categories need to be pre-reviewed when selling on Amazon Japan.
