Methodology & limitations

Editorial guidance and source-based analysis. No controlled hands-on product benchmark is claimed.

Bring representative data

Prepare sanitized products, variants, warehouses and orders. Decide which system is authoritative for inventory and order status. Do not let two systems change the same field without a conflict rule.

Run eight different orders

Test a normal order, a multi-item order, a partially unavailable order, a split shipment, a cancellation, a partial refund, an exchange and an invalid address. Check totals, currencies, inventory and tracking numbers. Record the input, expected result and actual result for each.

Interrupt synchronization in a test environment

Resume it and look for duplicate orders or stale data replacing newer states. Check whether the error can be traced to a particular order. Ask about latency, rate limits and retries; request an explanation of the concrete failure rather than a general promise of automation.

Test handover and exit

Let the people who will operate the system complete a day’s tasks independently. Document access, field mappings and scheduled jobs. Verify product, order and inventory exports. Separate implementation, training, integration and change-request costs in the proposal.
