1. How to set up freight delivery in the Amazon backend in the self-delivery mode
Amazon has 3 standard shipping models, namely:
1. Shipping fee model based on product/weight. This model is based on a per-item/weight delivery method, charging per item or per pound.
2. Freight mode based on order amount. The delivery method based on order amount requires the seller to create order price segments, each price segment corresponds to different shipping fee settings.
3. If the seller is selling "Books, Music, Videos, and DVDs", the shipping costs will be set by Amazon.
2. How do sellers set delivery freight in the background? Taking Amazon North America as an example
1. First log in to the backend settings (Setting) → Shipping Settings (Shipping Setting).
2. Click "Edit" and select the shipping address. You can set the shipping location. If you are shipping from China, select "China" in "Country/Region". If you do not want to display the location or ship from multiple locations, please select "None".
3. There are two ways to choose shipping fee settings: by order amount and by product/weight. You can choose a shipping fee setting based on the situation of your product.
(I) Freight model based on order amount
1. Select the standard delivery area and delivery time
Standard delivery areas: including the continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii, and the United States Protectorate. Before checking the area, the seller can confirm the delivery area and delivery charges with the logistics company of their choice. Generally speaking, Chinese sellers only need to check the first four items of "Standard Delivery Area and Service Level".
Choose delivery time: it is divided into "Normal delivery (17-28 working days)", "Express delivery (1-3 working days)", "Next day delivery (2 working days)" and "Next day delivery (24 hours)". If Chinese sellers ship from domestic sources, it is recommended to choose "Normal delivery (17-28 working days)".
2. It is relatively simpler to set the shipping fee "by order amount". The shipping fee is determined by the total order amount (including delivery fee). If you choose to charge shipping fees by segment, click "Add more segments" to set it, and then set the shipping fees for each segment.
3. After setting, click the "Continue" button to jump to the next page. After checking, if there is no problem, click "Confirm". After the setting is successful, it will jump back to the freight setting page.
4. If you need to modify the shipping fee, you can click the "Edit" button. If you need to change the shipping method, click "Change shipping calculation method".
(II) “By Commodity/Weight” Freight Model
Step 1: To select this shipping mode, you first need to select the standard delivery area and service level. The operation here is the same as the "By Order Amount" mode. Select the standard delivery area and service level and click "Continue".
Step 2: "By product/weight" freight mode, the billing formula of this mode = single delivery amount + number of products/product weight amount.
Charge by item: that is, charge shipping fee for each item. For example, if a customer purchases 1 item of product C, C charges USD 2 per item, and the single delivery amount is set at USD 5, the customer needs to pay a shipping fee of USD 5+2=USD 7.
Charged by weight: that is, the shipping fee is charged per pound (LBS) based on the weight of the goods. For example, if the total weight of the product package purchased by the customer is 2 pounds, and the charge is US$1 per pound, according to the billing formula, the shipping fee the customer needs to pay is US$5+2*1=7.
After the freight is set successfully, check it and confirm that there is no problem. Click "Confirm". After successful saving, it will jump back to the freight setting page. This completes the setting of freight in the self-delivery mode. If all the delivery areas you choose are free shipping, then just set the shipping fee for all areas to 0.
