In 2012, social network management platform Lithium Technologies announced that it had received $53.4 million in investment in its fourth round of financing. This round of financing was jointly initiated by venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and SAP. Other participants included existing investors Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Emergence Capital, Greenspring Associates, Shasta Ventures and Tenaya Capital. In addition, Lithium has appointed NEA partner Pete Sonsini as a director of the company.
In 2013, Lithium completed a $50 million pre-IPO mezzanine financing. The company did not disclose the specific list of investors. After this round of financing, its total financing amount has reached US$142 million.
