Amazon Returns Process
General Returns Process
1. The buyer submits a "return request";
2. The seller can check the return application and the reason for return in "Order" - "Manage Returns" on the seller platform;
3. The seller processes the return application in "Orders" - "Manage Returns" on the seller platform in accordance with the "Amazon Product Return Policy";
4. If the application is closed, Amazon will send an email notification to the buyer, which includes the reason why the seller closed the application;
5. If the return request is approved, the system will send the seller's return address to the buyer via email, and the seller will wait for the buyer to return the goods;
6. The seller receives the returned goods and refunds the order on the "Manage Returns" or "Manage Orders" page;
How do sellers handle return requests?
On the seller platform, click "Orders"---"Manage Returns" to view and process buyers' return requests.
Depending on the status of the return request, you can perform the following four actions:
Approve return request
If you accept the buyer's return request, click the "Approve Return Request" button. After approving the buyer's return request, the system will send the seller's return address and return instructions to the buyer via email.
PS: This step only authorizes the buyer to send the returned goods to you, and the payment will not be automatically refunded to the buyer. Additionally, approving return requests on the Manage Returns page will not affect your seller performance.
Close Application
If you do not accept the buyer's return request, it is recommended that you negotiate and communicate with the buyer to reach an agreement before clicking the "Close Request" button. After the seller submits a closure application, Amazon will send an email notification to the buyer, which will include the reason for the closure application.
PS: Buyers can cancel return requests, but sellers can only close them. If the buyer never sends back the returned goods or does not return the goods, the seller does not need to do anything for the approved return request.
Make a Refund
If you have already received a return from the buyer or allowed the buyer to keep the item, click the "Make Refund" button to refund the item.
