Referral fee discounts allow sellers to list popular products at competitive prices and ship them to Amazon customers in a convenient manner. Available commission discount opportunities can be found through the Commission Discounts page, Pricing Assistant, Manage Inventory, and Selling Coach.
Amazon currently offers three types of referral fee discounts:
Product price related: Get discounts by making product prices more competitive.
Product selection related: Get discounts by increasing product selection.
Prime-related: Get discounts by increasing your selection of Prime items.
Amazon product price related commission discounts:
Certain products may be eligible for a referral fee discount if they are sold at or below the discount price cap. For any eligible items sold before the commission discount ends, if the total sales price is equal to or less than the discounted price cap, you will receive the commission discount listed for that item. The total sale price is the total amount the buyer pays, including the price of the item and any shipping or gift wrap charges.
Commission discounts related to Amazon Product Selection:
From time to time, Amazon may offer limited-time referral fee discounts on best-selling products that are popular with customers or on products that are newly added to a best-selling brand or category. There are no pricing restrictions on these discounts, and commission discounts apply on every sale of qualifying items until the discount ends.
Amazon Prime-related commission discounts:
Limited-time referral fee discounts are also available for items sold through Fulfillment by Amazon and Seller Fulfilled Prime. There are no pricing restrictions on these discounts, and commission discounts apply on every sale of qualifying items until the discount ends.
How long do Amazon commission discounts last?
The duration of each commission discount is different. To find the end date, visit the Commission Discounts page in the Amazon backend and see the date in the Sales Commission Discount column in the table of each available commission discount opportunity.
