Amazon Black Friday Tips:
Black Friday Ad Release: For obvious reasons, Amazon is not releasing its traditional Black Friday print ad scans. That gives it plenty of time to wait until the final minute, which I expect (for Black Friday to happen later this year) to be November 20/21 at the latest, giving it plenty of time to evaluate the competition first.
Sales Days and Timing : Despite the late arrival of Black Friday this year, Amazon should still open its Black Friday sales store again on November 1. While there are some solid deals, you won't be able to get the best deals until this week. Thanksgiving. The actual Black Friday doorbuster will begin on Thanksgiving, with prices continuing throughout the weekend and into Cyber Monday.
Tip: Amazon devices never run out of stock, so prioritize other items.
Free shipping : Unlike Target and Best Buy, Amazon limits free two-day shipping to Amazon Prime members or orders over $25 (Walmart is even worse). Don't count on that changing, but do hope that Amazon offers a free Prime membership trial that you can take advantage of throughout the holiday sales season. You can withdraw later without any penalty. Amazon's gamble is that you stay.
Amazon Cyber Monday : Like Black Friday, Amazon doesn't have an official Cyber Monday ad scan, though you can expect a press release listing some deals on November 30. While there will be some new TVs available and possibly refreshed console bundles, expect Amazon's deals on branded devices to remain the same from Black Friday onwards.
