Suqian's cross-border e-commerce exports exceed US$100 million

In 2016, Suqian City was approved as a pilot city for cross-border e-commerce in Jiangsu Province. Over the past two years, Suqian has actively promoted cross-border e-commerce pilot projects across the city in accordance with the principle of "differentiated development and orderly advancement", and urged various counties and districts to accelerate the construction of carrier platforms.

At present, there are more than 100 cross-border e-commerce companies in Suqian City, with cumulative exports exceeding US$100 million. Cross-border e-commerce industrial parks in Shuyang, Suyu, Sucheng and other counties and districts are booming, and the pilot work is generally progressing smoothly.

At the national level, a series of export policies have been implemented, which has not only given a "shot in the arm" to export companies, but also added impetus to the development of cross-border e-commerce. At the municipal level, Suqian City has issued the "Provincial Cross-border E-commerce Pilot City Fund Management Measures", which, through policy guidance, will form a "leverage" effect, build a Suqian cross-border e-commerce functional carrier platform, and further enhance the carrying capacity of the industrial park.

In order to promote the development of cross-border e-commerce, the Suqian Municipal Government has established a city-wide cross-border e-commerce development leading group with the executive vice mayor as the group leader to comprehensively coordinate, guide and promote cross-border e-commerce work, and further consolidate the foundation for the development of Suqian's cross-border e-commerce by in-depth study and reference to advanced cross-border e-commerce experience in Hangzhou, Suzhou and other places.

In addition, Suqian City attaches great importance to the training of cross-border e-commerce talents. The Suqian Municipal Bureau of Commerce, together with relevant departments and institutions, has held cross-border e-commerce training for many times, inviting professional lecturers from well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms at home and abroad, such as Global Market, eBay, and Amazon, to provide guidance on online store opening and agency operation. More than 300 companies and 500 trainees participate in the training each year. Suqian's cross-border e-commerce has initially formed a development atmosphere of "government guidance, enterprise efforts, and full-staff action."

According to the person in charge of Suqian Municipal Bureau of Commerce, in the next step, Suqian will make full use of the opportunity of being a provincial cross-border e-commerce pilot city to build a development platform, promote various counties and districts to accelerate the construction of cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, strive to build more than two municipal-level cross-border e-commerce industrial parks within the year, and guide cross-border e-commerce to develop towards scale, standardization and regularization. At the same time, we will strengthen the cultivation of entities, promote traditional foreign trade enterprises to "go online", increase the efforts to attract domestic cross-border e-commerce "big sellers", drive the export of Suqian local products, and expand cross-border e-commerce entities. In addition, we actively encourage foreign trade enterprises to use well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba International Station and Made-in-China.com, as well as third-party service platforms such as Amazon, AliExpress, and eBay to expand into international markets such as Europe, the United States, Central and Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia.
