BoldCommerce is a software development company that builds tools, integrations, and enhancements for e-commerce stores. The BoldBrain app is designed to help merchants automatically display personalized product recommendations to each customer based on information such as previous shopping activity, browsing and search history, and previous purchases. It’s similar to how Amazon’s recommendation engine works.
What are the main features of BoldCommerce?
1. BoldCommerce can work directly with merchants to integrate their applications on any platform through API, including Magento, Demandware, and WooCommerce. Sellers must contact BoldCommerce to request access.
2. BoldBrain also works with some of BoldCommerce’s other apps — for example, merchants using BoldCommerce’s Upsell app can also take advantage of automatic recommendations so that each customer sees different products based on their past shopping history.
BoldCommerce funding status:
In January, BoldCommerce raised $16.5 million in Series A funding from Whitecap Venture Partners and Round13 Capital to bring artificial intelligence to e-commerce stores on Shopify and elsewhere. BoldCommerce said it plans to use the funds to accelerate the global expansion of its platform while doubling its team, hiring more than 200 programmers, designers, data scientists, analysts and sales in the next few years.
