The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) defines product certification as "a procedure in which a third party verifies, through inspection and assessment of the company's quality management system and sample type testing, whether the company's products, processes or services meet specific requirements and whether it has the ability to continuously and stably produce products that meet standard requirements, and provides written certification."
The picture below lists some of the product certification marks. Here we will talk about four of the more common product certification marks.
CE certification-the passport for manufacturers to open and enter the European market
CE certification (CONFORMITE EUROPEENNE) is limited to basic safety requirements that products do not endanger the safety of humans, animals and goods, rather than general quality requirements. The exact meaning is: the CE mark is a safety certification mark rather than a quality certification mark. It is a "principal requirement" that forms the core of the European Directive.
In the EU market, the "CE" mark is a compulsory certification mark. Regardless of whether the product is produced by an EU company or a product produced in other countries, as long as it wants to circulate freely in the EU market, it must be affixed with the "CE" mark, indicating that the product complies with the basic requirements of the EU's "New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization" directive. This is a mandatory requirement for products under EU law.
What kind of products require CE marking? General household appliances, lamps, audio and video products, ITE and office equipment, power tools, mechanical equipment, medical products and personal protection products all require CE certification. Moreover, most of the suppliers of such products in my country have CE certification. Products without certification should never be chosen.
FCC certification
The full name of FCC is Federal Communications Commission, which is translated into Chinese as the United States Federal Communications Commission. The FCC coordinates domestic and international communications by controlling radio broadcasting, television telecommunications, satellite, and cable.
FCC certification is divided into the following three types:
FCC15: Information technology equipment such as computers and peripheral products. Audio and video products and wireless remote control products.
FCC18: Industrial, medical equipment and scientific instruments.
FCC68: Communications interruption device.
FDA Certification
FDA: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is abbreviated as FDA. As a scientific management agency, the FDA's responsibility is to ensure the safety of food, cosmetics, drugs, biologics, medical devices and radioactive products produced or imported into the United States. Products such as televisions, CRT monitors, DVDs, CDs, laser products and microwave ovens require FDA certification.
3C Certification
3C certification is the abbreviation of China Compulsory Product Certification. Household appliances, ITE and office equipment and audio and video products all need 3C certification.
When selecting products, sellers must make it clear what certification the selected products require. When selecting suppliers, they must ask whether they have corresponding product certification certificates. If not, they must not cooperate with such manufacturers. Amazon itself has very strict control over its products. Once it is found that a product lacks certification, your listing will be removed from the shelves first. During the period of review or appeal, your sales and listing rankings will definitely be greatly impacted. Secondly, if your customers encounter serious accidents after purchasing such products and receive complaints, your store will be in danger.
