Amazon is a customer experience-centric platform. In order to ensure the quality of service to customers, Amazon officially stipulates that sellers must choose product categories and directions after successfully registering a store. Not all products can be successfully put on the shelves for sale. Certain product categories must first be approved by Amazon officials and pass the review before they can be sold. This is what we call a classification review. For novice Amazon sellers, how to pass the category review is a headache. Today, the editor will summarize some requirements and conditions for passing the Amazon category review.
Requirements for passing classification review:
1. The sales plan of the account must be a professional seller. Individual sellers cannot undergo classification review. (If individual sellers want to do category review, they can change the sales plan to professional seller in Setting-Account info.)
2. ODR (Order defect rate) The order defect rate is less than 1%. If it is higher than 1%, it is necessary to wait until the order defect rate returns to normal before conducting classification review. (It is recommended to lower the store's ODR index before doing a category review.)
3. Pre-fulfillment cancel rate: <2.5%
4.Late shipment rate: <4%.
5. Five product images that meet Amazon’s requirements.
6. During the review, provide invoices, receipts, inspection certificates, etc. that may be required for the product as required by Amazon.
Most category reviews on the Amazon platform must meet the above conditions. There are also some special categories that require products to be sent to Amazon for inspection. For example, a jewelry category review requires a processing fee of $500, which is non-refundable. (regardless of whether your classification review is successful or not) In addition, you need to send the product to their testing department for testing.
Conditions for passing classification review:
The following materials are required to pass the classification review:
1.5 product images: JPEG format is recommended; the background other than the product in the image should be pure white (255:255:255); the product should occupy more than 85% of the image; the image should not have a border or watermark, and cannot be electronically synthesized drawings; there should be no other accessories unrelated to the product.
2. Authorized and formal UPC code.
3. Receipts, invoices, and packing lists: must be valid documents within 90 days; contain the supplier’s address and contact information; contain the buyer’s address and contact information.
4. Various relevant certificates: CE certificate for electronics; FDA certificate for cosmetics and skin care products; nickel content certificate for jewelry.
5. Corporate website: It must be a corporate website with a first-level domain name.
6. USD 500 deposit: This deposit is required for jewelry and is non-refundable.
7. Sending samples: Jewelry products need to send samples to Amazon’s professional review team for inspection.
8. Product batch table: pictures, descriptions, titles, etc. need to comply with Amazon’s requirements, and at least one variant product is required.
It should be noted that the questions to be answered and the information required to be provided for category audits on each Amazon site are different.
